Welcome to Seven Pines

Our house is located in the lovely woods of western Wisconsin on the shores of the Eau Galle river. We live in an old log house that the locals know as "Seven Pines Farm", which is where our kennel name came from. We enjoy walking in the woods with our dogs, who are much-loved companions first and foremost.

Our love-affair with Bernese Mountain Dogs started over 13 years ago when we brought home our first BMD, Cooper.  He was a wonderful introduction to the breed and started us on a journey that we couldn't have imagined.  With each puppy we brought home, we got more and more involved, venturing into showing dogs, draft tests, obedience and tracking.  We haven't titled in all those venues yet, but we enjoy training and giving our working-dogs a job to do!  We feel strongly that showing our dogs in conformation, as well as proving their working ability is very important.

We also feel strongly about giving back to the dogs and the breed that have given us so much.  We do that through our participation and membership in the following dog-related clubs:

When we decided we wanted to begin our own breeding program, we did so after a great deal of fore-thought.  Breeding is a huge responsibility and we definitely take that responsbility to heart.  Health is a priority at Seven Pines.  Priorities for our breeding program are:

All of our dogs are health-tested (heart, eyes, hips, elbows, DM and vWD) with all results made available thorugh Berner-Garde at www.bernergarde.org.  We feel that by sharing information openly we can help create a healthier future for our breed.  We select males for breeding based on health and longevity in their lines who will best compliment our female's attributes.

We strive to produce healthy, beautiful dogs that are a joy to live with.  We seek owners for our puppies that will keep us informed and involved for the lifetime of the dog.  Our puppies are a lifelong commitment for us and for our owners.

Please come meet our dogs!
